'Highly nutritious mixed dal dosa'

MASALA ADAI DOSA (courtesy Eveline Antony)

Ingredients:

Dals ( arhar, mung yellow, mung green, chana, masur dhuli,urd) - ¾ cups each Raw rice - 1 cup Boiled rice - 1 cup Methi seeds - 1 teaspoon Hing - ¼ tea spoon Onions - 2 Ginger - ½ inch Curry leaves - one cup Coriander leaves- one cup Green chilly - chopped(optional) Salt - to taste

Method of preparation:

• Mix all the dals, rice and methi seeds together, wash them and soak them for two hours. • Grind them to a fine paste. • Store it in the fridge if wish to use later. • Just before making dosas, add Hing and salt to it. • Saute onions, ginger, curry leaves, coriander and green chilly in a little oil for 3 minutes, add to the paste and mix thoroughly. • Make dosas and serve hot. :) • Approximately 20 dosas can be made.

CHUTNEY

Ingredients:

Onions - 4 Red chillies - 2 Tamarind pulp- ½ teaspoon Urd dal - 1 tablespoon

Method of preparation:

• Saute urd dal till light brown. Keep it aside. • Saute the red chillies, keep them aside. • Saute the onions, let them cool down. • Grind altogether with a little salt and tamarind.
